1. What languages does LSI offer?

LSI offers all languages. So far LSI customers have learnt Chinese, German, English, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Spanish and Russian. The LSI trainer network is able to cover further languages.

2. Can my company define the teaching times flexibly?

The seminar times are Monday – Saturday, 7:00 am – 9:00 pm.

3. How many participants does LSI recommend per language course?

LSI recommends a maximum of 6 – 8 participants per seminar. However, the rule applies that the fewer the participants the higher the effectiveness of the seminar due to the longer individual speaking time of each participant.

4. How much does a teaching unit of 45 minutes cost?

The price per teaching unit depends on the amount of teaching units requested. Please contact us to receive an individual offer.

5. Will LSI come to my company? What costs would that entail?

LSI conducts seminars on the premises of LSI as well as the customer. No extra travel costs apply to customers within Leipzig. LSI will gladly give customers outside of Leipzig an individual offer.

6. How much does a placement test cost?

The online placement test is free of charge. LSI will collect all of the placement tests from your employees and make a recommendation for dividing participants into groups – free of charge.

7. How many teaching units should a course consist of per week?

LSI recommends 2 - 3 teaching units per week. Of course the results are significantly higher with 4 - 5 teaching units per week.

8. What subsidies are available?

Funding for small and medium-sized enterprises:

The European Social Fund (ESF) allocates subsidies for small and medium-sized companies (SME) via the Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB) (Saxon Bank for Development) for “acquiring, developing and maintaining intercultural competencies and competencies in the field of international marketing”. LSI will gladly establish contact for you with the SAB. Here you can find further information.

 

 

Saxony's Cheque for Further Education - Weiterbildungsscheck Sachsen:

As an employee, you may be eligible to receive subsidies for a language course, provided by the European Social Fund through the State of Saxony and the SAB (Sächsische Aufbaubank). The amount of funding depends, besides other criteria, on your monthly income. 80% funding is available for employees with a maximum gross monthly income of €2,500. The seminar costs must exceed €650. 60% funding can be received if your gross monthly income lies between €2,500 and €4,150. The seminar costs must exceed €1,000. 9. What teaching material does LSI use?

LSI uses its own teaching material which is compiled individually for your language course. LSI materials consist of a theoretical section and series of worksheets that help you to practice what you have learnt and to enable you to deepen your knowledge of the language.

10. Are all LSI trainers native speakers?

LSI trainers are generally native speakers. However, LSI also specifically uses non-native speakers as trainers. LSI trainers that are non-native speakers get best marks especially for level A1, A2 and B1 courses.

11. What qualifications do LSI trainers have?

LSI does not rely on conventional trainer qualifications such as CELTA. LSI trainers complete an LSI-internal training course and regularly take part in LSI-internal trainer examinations.
